Alasdair was born in Stoke on Trent and took a degree in modern languages before gaining an Entrance Scholarship to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He has appeared with Scottish Opera and other opera companies and has sung at the Aix-de-Provence Festival and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. As well as being an accomplished singer, Alasdair has founded and directed a number of successful school choirs. He has both directed and performed in Peterborough Opera productions.
Alasdair joined Peterborough Male Voice Choir as its musical director only in January 2005. He has already made an impact and has introduced PMVC to some fresh and innovative ideas about singing.
Alasdair is a member of the Association of British Choral Directors.
